Visual MCNP has visual tools that can help solve complex variance reduction problems. This paper will show several applications where Visual MCNP has been used to solve real world problems with a substantial reduction in the running time required to obtain convergence at a tally. Visual MCNP has all the capabilities of MCNP with additional visual tools to help the user understand their MCNP simulation. Three different models will be discussed, a synchrotron accelerator in South Korea; the dose through penetrations in shielding for a cyclotron in Canada; and radioactive contamination spread over a large area in Russia.
